Adventures with T…Part 2
Our adventure takes us through Coos Bay around dinner time…Road Trip USA Pacific Coast Highway had recommended this as a place to eat…perfect for T and I’s eclectic tastes…..
I swear I have seen something about this book on TV..they had copies on the table to read..too funny…dinner was delicious and we took some blueberry apple strudel with us. Yumm!!
We wandered around that area for a bit and while in a used book store the owner suggested we stay on Beach Loop Road if we were headed down to Bandon for the night…
Great choice! We stayed in The Sunset Oceanfront Lodging…and even got there in time to see the sun set!! Which was good because it was the only clear night we had on the coast!
This motel is got it going on with all the “sea stacks” right in front of their establishment.
They offered a variety of accomodations to fit all budgets and we were lucky enough to have gotten the last budget friendly room…that still boasted an ocean view! Sweet!
The Cranberry Festival was happening that weekend…we got there to late to enjoy it (these towns roll up the sidewalk early and don’t get going until later in the morning than I am used too)
And of course we were up to early the next morning…BUT after coffee we did stroll through the old town area and as part of the festival along the water front in celebration of the year of the rabbit…they had a student art show hanging and this awesome painting won best in show…
AND another best in show for the (adult) art show they were having was Blossom Merz…who, fortunately for us, happened to be in his tent early and we were able to purchase some of his wonderful weavings!!!!
I swiped this photo off his blog because it was a good picture of his work….I bought a red cloak and T got a blue one..and for my mom I got a red shawl…they are beautifully crafted and the colors in he incorporates can only be fully seen/appreciated in person…my cloak has a lot of purple it it and the red fades to orange…mom’s had more black in hers and fades from red to rust. Incredible!
OK, I have run late and need to get on to work…more later!!

I am jealous! Your trip looks beautiful. AND and art show to boot! Does it get much better?
